For more than 15 years,
Rotor has been running a number of projects to make the practice of reusing materials in the construction sector more widespread and accessible. Rotor's work takes several forms: design (using salvaged materials), research projects, consultancy, teaching, exhibitions, etc. Our activity is recognised as a forerunner in the circular economy.
In early 2024, Rotor launched the PREUSE project (Public Responses to Enable the Use of Salvaged building Elements), with various European partners (from Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands). It aims to support public authorities (local and regional) in managing their resources and implementing systemic solutions to recover and reuse building materials. These solutions include setting up local and regional reuse centres, activating a network of committed players and running an awareness-raising campaign. One of the actions planned in this context is to create an online reference centre for documentation and exchanges on this subject.
As part of this project, Rotor is looking for a junior member of staff to take charge of both the project's communication and various research tasks.
The member of staff will also be involved in the association's general communications - with, if the contract is renewed, the implementation of a communications strategy for the association as a whole.
The role involves :
Taking charge of communications for the PREUSE project:
-Creating content (posts for social networks and news for the www.rotordb.org and www.opalis.eu websites)
-Managing and updating the association's various media (website, Instagram, FaceBook, LinkedIn)
-Support for the layout and compliance with the graphic charter for all project documents
-Support for the organisation of events (Steering Committee with project partners, conferences, etc.)
-Participation in project dissemination and awareness-raising activities (training, external meetings, etc.)
Participate in the implementation of Work package 2, entitled: Activity 2.2 (Set an online reference centre for documentation and interactions on salvage and reuse).
In this context, the person will be responsible for :
-Setting up the ‘REUSE' online library: reading specialist works and producing summaries, in English, French or Dutch, for the general public
-Finalising and monitoring the physical ‘REUSE' library: monitoring publications, archiving and monitoring requests, welcoming the public
Finally, this role is part of the Rotor team as a whole, through various activities:
-Participating in team meetings and cross-functional projects
-Coordination of communications (follow-up of the ‘press@rotordb.org' e-mail address, coordination of publications in the various media)
-In the event of contract renewal: implementation of a communications strategy in coordination with the team (redesign of the website, proposal of a graphic charter, management of photos and their credits)
Candidates must :
-Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Be able to express themselves in French and work in a trilingual environment (FR, EN, NL)
-Have an affinity for communication on social networks - master their codes and uses
-Be familiar with graphics and image processing tools
-Have a synthetic and rigorous mind. Good popularisation skills: ability to produce texts suitable for the general public, respecting the works from which they are taken
-Little or no experience: this is a junior position, which may change if the contract is renewed
-Be able to work independently and as part of a team
